Event Management Specialist
Responsible for preparing all event documentation and coordinates with vendors and guests to ensure consistent, high-level service throughout pre-event, event and post-event. This position primarily handles events of average complexity.
Education and Experience
2-year degree from an accredited university in Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 1- 2 years of experience in the event management or related professional area required.
Managing Event Logistics and Operations
Ensures that events progress seamlessly by following established procedures, collaborating with other employees, and ensuring accuracy.
Adheres to all standards, policies, and procedures.
Uses his/her judgment to integrate current trends in event management and event design.
Ensuring and Providing Exceptional Customer Service
Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service.
Follows up with customer post-event.
Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints.
Leading Event Management Teams
Conducts formal pre- and post-event meetings as required to review/communicate group needs and feedback.
Leads formal pre-event and post-event meetings for average to large-sized assigned groups.
Basic Computer Skills- Uses basic computer hardware and software (e.g., personal computers, word processing software, Internet browsers, etc.).
Mathematical Reasoning- Demonstrates ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly, correctly, and in a way that allows one to solve work-related issues.
Oral Comprehension- Demonstrates ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
Reading Comprehension - Demonstrates understanding of written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
Media& PR Specialist
We are looking for both part-time and contract media & PR specialist to join this small but ambitious event planning team. The media & PR specialist is responsible for drafting press releases; managing media relations with media partners and assisting media contacts during our events and press conferences.
Identify and assist with organizational events, conferences, and outreach as needed.
Direct media monitoring and build media lists.
Direct and draft edit talking points, articles, blogs and other written materials.
Responsible for crafting media strategies for campaigns and should be able to work with activists all over the globe.
Responsible for drafting and implementing PR communications for all aspects of the organization.
Helps maintain press room on the company website and should be able to upload press-releases.
Directs and Supports the PR department in creating pitch ideas and plans that will result in maximum exposure for the organization.
Monitors top influencers, competitors, media and industry trends for potential shareable content.
Directs, leads by example and sets successful media strategy for other departments, especially the business development department.
Directs and implements a training program for all volunteers, members of other departments on a regular basis.
Supports consistency of the organization’s message in all PR materials.
Responsible for final media material designs and proofing assistance to other departments, particularly with regards to implementation of logo styles and uniformity of design.
Direct the other teams and groups.
·Experience in copywriting and editing.
·Familiarity with social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn etc.)
·Education: BSc/BA in PR, communications, journalism or relevant field preferred
·Willingness to work in a small and fast-moving environment.

·Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop and InDesign).
A marketing intern will be an integral part in assisting the maintenance of all areas of marketing including but not limited to; social media, direct mail, events. You will be working from our headquarters located in Long Island City, working closely with the PR team to help us improve our powerful tools.

The intern will be responsible for assisting the Events team in producing multiple events throughout the summer, as well as planning for future events.
Assist with venue research including site-checks.
Assist with the planning of events including vendors, talent, signage etc.
Assist with organizing all event materials including the shot list, run of show, contact list etc.
Attend events, helping with load-in, load-out and then check-in process.
Assist with expenses and budgets.
Availability of at least 3 days per week to work from our NYC office.
Familiarity with NYC and a great ability to navigate independently.
Self-sufficient, resourceful and willing to jump in where needed.
Event experience on any scale is a plus!
